Training Coordinator

Racheal Ayeni is a Geospatial Data Analyst and Social Media Manager currently working as a customer experience specialist with First City Monument Bank. Driven by a passion for leveraging geospatial data and enhancing communication strategies, Racheal is dedicated to empowering communities through technology and information. She volunteers as Content and Communications Coordinator at African Women in GIS, a community of African Women who work and study in the geospatial industry. She crafts compelling narratives and manage social media initiatives that elevate the voices of women in the geospatial field. Her commitment to advocacy and community engagement is further reflected in her volunteer work, and is an active HOTOSM Mapper participating in humanitarian efforts to map Eco Smart Cities.

Her journey in the geospatial field began with a Bachelor of Technology in Remote Sensing and Geosciences from the Federal University of Technology Akure, where she graduated with a Second-Class Upper Division. Racheal’s academic involvement included serving as Treasurer of the Association of Remote Sensing and GIS Students and Welfare Officer for YouthMappersFUTA, where she supported members and facilitated events.
Racheal has practical experience from her placement at the National Centre for Remote Sensing, where she developed skills in remote sensing applications. Additionally, as a certified participant in several GIS trainings, she has completed intensive GIS trainings with African Women in GIS and Spatial Analysis trainings by Esri and NASA.

She serves as Finance Officer at SheFlies and where she utilises her GIS knowledge in meaningful ways to drive social impact and advocate for innovative solutions in the geospatial domain.
